At Stanley church of Christ in Logansport, Louisiana, we try our best to live by the two greatest commandments: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind…the second is like it, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39). For that reason, serving God is at the forefront of our hearts and minds, and in doing so, we serve others as well. If that’s your goal, we would love to meet you!

How Do I Get to Heaven?

"Brethren, what shall we do?"

On the day of Pentecost, roughly 50 days after Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, the people in Jerusalem were convicted by Peter’s speech about the promised Messiah. Realizing that He was the same Jesus of Nazareth that they hung on the cross, the Scriptures report that they were “pierced to the heart,” and asked Peter what they needed to do (Acts 2:37). His answer to them is the same as his answer to us, once we realize that it’s our sins that condemned Jesus to death. Let’s see what the Scriptures say we need to do to be right with God.

Hear the Word

“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
(Romans 10:17)

Believe in God

“Without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
(Hebrews 11:6)

Repent of Your Sins

“…Unless you repent, you shall likewise perish.”
(Luke 13:3)

Confess Your Faith

“Everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in Heaven.”
(Matthew 10:32)

Be Baptized

“He who has believed and has been baptized will be saved; but he who has disbelieved will be condemned.”
(Mark 16:16)

Live Faithfully

“Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.”
(Revelation 2:10)

Joseph Lachausse

Minister

Joseph has always retained a passion to know and learn more about his God. After completing two years in a preacher training program with the Loop 287 church of Christ in Lufkin, TX, Joseph worked with the Southside church of Christ in Houston, Mississippi before coming here to Logansport, Louisiana. He loves studying with anyone who wants to know more about God’s word, and would love the opportunity to open God’s Word with you.

We sing using only our voices, lifting up the melody of our hearts to God’s glorious ears.

Is there anything sweeter than praying with other saints? We think not; that’s why it’s a pillar of our worship.
